Description
hEX PoE is a five port Gigabit Ethernet router for locations where wireless connectivity is not required. The device has a USB 2.0 port and a SFP port for adding optical fiber connectivity. The ports 2-5 can power other PoE capable devices with the same voltage as applied to the unit.
It is affordable, small and easy to use, but at the same time comes with a very powerful 800MHz CPU, capable of all the advanced configurations that RouterOS supports. Less power adapters and cables to worry about! Max current is 1A per port, Ethernet ports are shielded.
It also supports passive PoE input and passive or 802.3af/at PoE output. Ethernet ports 2-5 can power other PoE capable devices with the same voltage as applied to the unit. Less power adapters and cables to worry about! It can power at/af mode B (4,5+)(7,8-) compatible devices, if 48-57 input voltage is used.

Swiss Army knife of routers
Great to have single device that I can use a rounder iron switch. Accepts and passes thru either 24v or 48v (comes C with 24v adapter).

Great PoE Router With Drawbacks
This is a great little box, my only complaint is that Mikrotik sends a passive 24v power supply and the PoE only supports passive PoE with that power supply. None of my equipment is passive anymore and if I wanted passive I would have just bought the Lite. Mikrotik needs to either sell power supplies separately or give you the option to upgrade your power supply when you buy to an at/af compliant. Instead hunting down a complaint power supply has been a pain in my backside. Ironically I already had a 57v PoE inverter that I can't use with this, cus the input on the ethernet side only supports 30v! Mikrotik is great for the price, but they really need to enter 2021 and upgrade their devices for at/af and not passive. Multilink was great. The box shipped right away and the shipping was quick too. The rating isn't a fault of theirs. They were great.
